One of the biggest challenges in night sky photography is capturing enough light to make stars stand out—especially with slower lenses or without a star tracker. When Michael first took the design to the production team to create something never before seen on the market their answer was “It cannot be done.” Through testing dozens of prototypes and establishing consistent production quality controls, after months of testing, this great new astrophotography tool has become a reality.
The new Maven Star Walker filter enhances medium-to-bright stars, making them appear even larger and brighter without requiring longer exposures, wider apertures or additional post processing. This experimental magnetic filter, only from MAVEN, subtly softens stars to widen them, making constellations easier to see and capture in-camera. True to its name, the filter even features a first-of-its-kind star-constellation knurling pattern on the rim.
Star Walker can be stacked with the Maven Dream Soft filter to create a greater star glow effect. You can even take this a step further with our already existing Night Sky filter, which helps remove yellow light pollution. This is why MAVEN filters are so powerful, instant stacking of multiple filters, and getting it all in camera.
